I have always enjoyed working with my hands – having pursued such crafts as building and repairing custom steel bicycle frames, automobile restoration and masonry, to name a few. I derive great satisfaction from the tangible results. Once I discovered silver, I knew I had found the material that would allow me to express my artistic visions, which are fueled by so many things – gazing at the stars, the mountains, architecture, music, photography and science fiction are but a handful. Sometimes, before I begin crafting a piece I have envisioned, I make a drawing of my design and work from that. However, more often than not, I dive straight into the creation of my vision.
