Shelby Yingling

I was born in 1953 and grew up in York, PA. My passion for art started when I was a little girl. I used to draw on the sidewalk with chalk or try to copy pictures from magazines.

I attended Kutztown University and majored in commercial art. However, my career life led me to law and finance. I have come back to my love of art and painting in my retirement.

Oils are my primary medium, and I have been painting with them for more than 30 years.

I have always been about holding on to memories and the emotions tied to those memories. So I like to take photos and then paint the places I have visited be that a far away country or on a hike close to home.
