Synchronicity. Precisely at the times I sought new direction in my life, art metal was the result of my search. I couldn’t ignore the signs. When I took my very first Art Metal class at 14 yrs of age, I was instantly hooked on the process and transformation, of turning an ugly piece of metal into a thing of beauty. It became obvious after 30 years of making jewelry as a hobby that it was actually a life path. But hobby classes just weren’t enough, so where to go next? Synchronicity was at work again. Seemingly by coincidence, I found professional training under a master goldsmith and honed my skills over a number of years as a bench jeweler, I finally learned the techniques necessary to produce the quality jewelry that the Virgo in me demands.

I love the process of turning earth’s elements into things of beauty and I use ethically sourced materials as often as possible. Some of my unique designs are simple, yet that simplicity also demands precision. Most of my jewelry is one of a kind, and I make many of my own components. I primarily fabricate using sterling silver, argentium silver, and different karats & colors of gold. The colors of niobium and titanium are also fun to work with. Then there are pearls, jaspers, agates, and precious and semi precious gems to add! I often let the stones dictate the design and end product. The possibilities are endless and so fun to explore. Then of course there are the tools and torches! Ooh, fire! It’s still all about the transformation and process. I love it!
