I was born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico which influenced me in many ways. My love for the southwest and the natural beauty of the earth combined with the wonderful colors and shapes of the Native American art I saw all around me drives my need to create. About 35 years ago, my long-time love of beads compelled me to start doing beadwork as an outlet for my creative side. When I found bead embroidery and I knew I found my true love! Each piece of my art is meticulously crafted and incorporates a striking and jubilant use of color and texture. I create intricate beaded bracelets, necklaces and bolo ties, earrings, hair clips, brooches/pins, other beaded objects such as tins and boxes, and an occasional framed work.
