In all the different universities where I have studied, I was taught to paint what I see and to paint just like it is. Looking for perfection in each one of my strokes. I did that for many years until I realized that, in this life, us humans are not perfect and the beauty of this is that we are all perfect just as we are…imperfect.
About my work I now think that imperfect is perfect.

Bio 2026
Susanna Chavez is a painter living and working in Corrales, NM. Susanna grew up in Guadalajara. She studied art at universities in Guadalajara Mexico, Madrid Spain, Florence Italy and, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Her abstract style is expressed with free-flowing shapes using bold and bright colors in acrylic and oil on canvas. She is inspired by normal every-day life events. Seeing an x-ray of her little dog inspired the paintingBig Heart.
Susanna’s work is the main art in The House of EPO in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is a member of the Corrales Society of Artists and the New Mexico State Committee National Museum of Women in the Arts.
