Wanderlust. As long as I can remember that is how my Dad described me. I love to travel and see the world. I recently read this description of wanderlust: “We crave the feeling of tasting the unexplored, knowing that a new story, face, or flavor dances around every corner.”

To me, this is so closely intertwined with how I approach art. We are surrounded by a never-ending array of beauty and inspiration and translating our impressions into visual art requires flexibility and diversity of both medium and technique. Over the years I have experimented with a variety of styles from realistic landscapes to figurative abstracts, and now to textural abstract landscapes. I have always gravitated to more abstract images. Less defined and open to interpretation. Some of my pieces are more clearly figurative and saturated with bold colors while others employ a more subdued palette and deep texture, inviting you to dive in and explore your emotional response to the image rather than an intellectual one. As many artists would say, I hope you will connect on some level with the image. Perhaps it reminds you of a recent vacation, or a moody abstract piece may comfort your soul. I follow where the visions of my brain lead, and I invite you to do the same.
