The mission of CSA is to foster a vibrant and distinctive artistic community in Corrales and New Mexico by promoting, exhibiting and providing venues for selling the work of emerging and established artists through art exhibitions and educational programming, and by serving as a resource to all who seek to expand their appreciation, knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of art.

In 2007, the Corrales Society of Artists (CSA) was formed as a State of New Mexico non-profit organization.  The Corrales Art Studio Tour, a separate organization, lead by Pauline Eaton,  began in 1998. Eaton, dedicated countless hours over the years to build the foundation of what has become one of the most successful studio tours in the region. CSA took over management of the studio tour in 2009.

Today,  CSA is an 100-plus member strong organization that is both a federal and state 501 (c)(3) non-profit. Members come from all over the state of New Mexico and are full-time and part-time artists, retired teachers, nurses, engineers, writers, professionals starting second careers, individuals who enjoy the arts, individuals exploring their creative spirit and everyone in between.

Some CSA members have been perfecting their skills their entire lives while others are just beginning their journey into the arts. Some are young and some are well into their senior years.

The organization also works closely with local business and is part of a local business initiative. CSA has been a leader in the recent organization of a partnership of 25 Corrales organizations and businesses engaged in art, education, cultural events, and activities.  With leadership from CSA, the Corrales Arts Partners was formed to provide a forum for groups to become more familiar with and provide support for the activities of other Partners, to explore ways to collaborate in areas of mutual interest, to collectively problem solve, and share resources.

CSA also is playing a major role in seeking a designation for Corrales as a New Mexico Arts and Cultural District.
